This is not a standard post for me, but I feel compelled to write about Facebook LIVE because it is going to be a big way I interact and engage with my audience going forward.
Facebook LIVE is the answer to connecting with your audience, to engaging authentically with your audience, and to integrating video into your blog.
I have been searching for a way to integrate video into my blogging work. Creating, producing, and editing my own videos based on activities, hacks, or a variety of other topics has not worked for me for loads of reasons from logistics to capacity. Feeling frustrated, I craved another way to connect with my audience.
Launching my Distilled Parenting podcast satisfied my urge to do something more for my audience. You could hear my voice. That was nice. I love my podcast. I love podcasting and will certainly continue to build and to grow in the arena. When Holly Homer began doing FB LIVE, I suddenly found myself folding laundry, listening to her, and then interacting with her. Not only did I learn something new, I connected with her and the other commentators on her LIVE broadcast.
Bottom line: the potential to connect with your audience is phenomenal. If you aren’t a blogger and you’re reading this post (that’s awesome), then I view FB Live as a way to connect more authentically with you. That is why I blog.
