How I Increased my Sales 500% in a Recent Teachers Pay Teachers Sale

Do you want to know how I increased my sales on TpT by almost 500% in the last sale?

Yup, I had great success this last TpT sale. The big difference for me was using an emailing sequencing approach.

Consider the approach akin to a product launch.  Your pre-launch sequence that plants a variety of seeds that will be ready to bloom during the sale. Get your audience excited about your products and create a feeling of reciprocity.

You will notice there are 8 emails in this series, which might scare the heck out of you, but trust me on this approach.

Hear me now: You only send an email to your ENTIRE list ONCE.

The second email is a re-send to un-opens.  Then you funnel down your list so that it becomes extremely targeted moving from essentially cold or luke warm, in my case (because my whole list isn’t into printables, just a portion), to PIPING HOT.

In the end, you will only be sending multiple emails to the people who want to receive the reminders. My funnel started with 15K and narrowed down to 3.8K after I implemented tags, thereby segmenting my email list to those people who really want access to high-quality printables.

Here is how I did it:

TpT Sale Email Sequence to Success

(Send 2 Days Before Sale) Email #1 – Sale is Coming

  • Include links to top selling, relevant products
  • Send to my whole list
  • Offer a FREE resource to begin to cultivate a sense of reciprocity
  • Tag any subscriber who clicks any of the product URLs
  • Let your subscribers know that if they don’t want to create an account in TpT, they can go to your independent store starting NOW to receive 30% without having to create an account

(Send 1 Day Before the Sale) Email #2 – Re-Send Email #1

  • Same email as above with different subject
  • Tag any subscriber who clicks any of the product URLs

(Send Day 1 am of Sale) Email #3 – Sale begins in a few hours

  • Send only to tagged subscribers
  • Add a countdown timer
  • Make this email short & sweet

(Send Day 1 pm of Sale) Email #4 – Sale is on

  • Highlight products
  • Include the countdown timer, create a sense of urgency
  • Tag these subscribers with “TpT HOT”

(Send Day 2 am of Sale) Email #5 – Sorry ;-(

  • An email that basically says you don’t want to be that person that wakes up the next morning after the sale      has ended suddenly wanting to purchase from the sale.
  • Send only to tagged “HOT” subscribers

(Send Day 2 pm of Sale) Email #6 – Sale ends in 3 hours

  • Countdown, short & sweet
  • Send only to “HOT” list

(Send Day 2 pm of Sale) Email #7 – Sale ends in an hour

  • Countdown, short & sweet
  • Send only to “HOT” list

(Send 1 Day am after Sale Ends) Email #8 – Did you miss out? Don’t worry, I have your back.

  • I got your back email
  • Send only to “HOT” list
  • Link to Independent store with promo code
